The Opportunity
Join the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications (EE&T) in the Faculty of Engineering, UNSW, as a Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role. In this role you will develop your own research in the area of Electrical Engineering as well as teach undergraduate/postgraduate classes. You will be given the opportunity to conduct classes, design and develop learning activities, as well as conduct and publish high-quality research as part of a team and/or independently.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career academic looking to lay the foundations for their career in academia. The role of Associate Lecturer/Lecturer reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports
1. Salary, Associate Lecturer (Level A) – AUD $110,059 to $117,718 per annum + 17% superannuationLecturer (Level B) - $123,620 to $145,730 per annum + 17% superannuation

Skills and Experience
Associate Lecturer (Level A)
5. A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
6. Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
7. Demonstrated experience in and passion for teaching and learning design, development and/or delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
8. Knowledge of educational technologies and online delivery methods.
9. Experience engaging students and fostering independent learning through meaningful assessment and helpful feedback.
10. Evidence of and/or preparedness to undertake professional development of teaching practice.
11. Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives.
12. Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
13. Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
14. Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
15. Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
16. An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
17. Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
Lecturer (Level B)
18. A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
19. Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
20. Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
21. Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
22. Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
23. Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable).
24. Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
25. Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
26. A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
27. High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
28. Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
