Talent International is currently recruiting for an EL1 Assistant Director – Scheme Effectiveness x 2 to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in Surry Hills.
The position is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension.
The role pays $602.55/day + Super.
7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week The EL1 Assistant Director Policy and Research will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in complex problem solving and issues management within the functions of the Scheme Effectiveness branch.
The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the client to advance the client's interests across a range of forums.
Duties and responsibilities Supporting project scoping, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
Managing the effective governance of projects and associated contracted engagement and research work to ensure progress, quality, and value for money.
Supervising policy and research related project activities and resources to deliver agreed outputs.
Reviewing and providing constructive feedback on work of junior staff to deliver high quality project outputs and support the skills development of direct reports.
Conducting annual performance planning with direct reports.
Working within an agreed Agency program management framework and managing multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy to meet tight and often conflicting timeframes.
Fostering key relationships with Agency subject matter experts to support the delivery of appropriate project solutions and influence key stakeholders to raise the profile of projects.
Building and managing collaborative relationships with relevant areas of the Agency, and external stakeholders, to support effective delivery and communications.
Developing innovative solutions to issues affecting delivery of projects.
Maintaining project artefacts including project management plans, scheduling and performance reports to ensure integrity of projects.
Essential criteria Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise and coordinate complex information.
Previous experience in the development of data-based dashboards to assist the monitoring of policy impacts.
Ability to translate complex economic findings and analyses into succinct policy narratives Ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders Highly developed Microsoft Excel skills.
Desirable criteria SAS, R, Microsoft Power BI, or other statistical or visual analytical programs considered useful.
