About the office/school The National School of Nursing & Midwifery Sydney Campus invites applications from Registered Midwives to apply for a position as a Lecturer, to teach into the National Graduate Diploma of Midwifery & the National Graduate Certificate of Contemporary Midwifery, our newly accredited programs.
About the role This position is responsible for making contributions to the teaching effort of the institution, at postgraduate certificate and diploma levels, and to carry out activities to develop their scholarly, research and/or professional expertise relevant to the profession or discipline.
Key Responsibilities Engage in teaching and assessment in midwifery courses offered by the University Deliver, develop, and coordinate courses in the midwifery discipline Support ongoing curriculum development and quality assurance processes for all aspects of internal and external accreditation requirements for the School Lead quality activities including peer review and benchmarking activities and course review Supervise Graduate Diploma students and act as subject coordinators Supervise the program of study of honours students or postgraduate students engaged in coursework Be active in the recruitment of students and the marketing of the programs offered by the School Perform interim and summative evaluations of courses and make recommendations about relevant changes required Work collaboratively with other academic staff members to ensure coherence and quality in all aspects of the academic program Qualifications, skills & experience Level B Academic staff member with qualifications in midwifery Must have a Masters' Degree in a relevant midwifery/health-related topic Registered as a Midwife in Australia with significant recent clinical midwifery experience A demonstrated ability to provide high-quality teaching in a University setting and experience with course coordination and academic governance A demonstrated ability to develop teaching resources and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including the effective use of online learning management Well-developed understanding of contemporary issues in midwifery Well-developed understanding of curriculum development, accreditation, and current issues in higher education Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team Benefits Fast-paced environment with opportunity for professional growth Generous training and development opportunities Friendly and collaborative working environment How to apply Please apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
