Apply today!11th March, 2025About the RoleAs a Laboratory Technician in the microbiology department of our environmental laboratory, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of microbiological testing processes. Your responsibilities will include conducting microbiological analyses in line with quality standards, identifying anomalies in samples, organizing tasks to optimize workflow, and ensuring deadlines are met. You will also calibrate and maintain equipment, manage laboratory consumables, maintain a clean and sterile workspace, and perform calculations as needed.The day to dayPreparation and analysis of environmental samplesEnsuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work InstructionsOrganising designated tasks to maximise daily efficienciesCompleting all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standardHighlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviourThe EssentialsThe Laboratory Technician should possess:Science degree in Microbiology or related (preferred but not essential)High level of attention to detail, good communication and organisational skillsUnderstanding of good laboratory practicesA high level of computer literacyAbility to work well in a team environmentGreat time managementEligibilityTo be eligible to work at ALS you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa.How to applyPlease apply on-line and provide a cover letter and CV that best demonstrate your motivation and ability to meet the requirements of this role.
