As a brand-new restaurant, we are searching for a visionary Head Chef who will not only lead the kitchen but also help build the entire culinary team. Key Responsibilities:Team Building: Recruit, train, and lead a kitchen team, ensuring each member is aligned with the restaurant's vision of excellence.Menu Development: Create a signature menu that emphasises premium steaks, quality ingredients, and creative side dishes, showcasing a balance of classic steakhouse fare and innovative culinary techniques.Kitchen Leadership: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while ensuring consistency and high standards in every dish.Vendor Relationships: Source and establish relationships with top-quality suppliers for meats, produce, and other ingredients, ensuring the best possible products for our menu.Health & Safety: Ensure the kitchen meets all health, safety, and sanitation standards, and implement systems to maintain these high standards every day.Cost Management: Manage kitchen budgets, control food costs, minimize waste, and maximise profitability through efficient kitchen management.Guest Experience: Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure the best possible guest experience, providing feedback and adapting to guest preferences and feedback.Innovation: Stay current on culinary trends and continuously refine and enhance the menu to keep it fresh and competitive within the local dining scene. Requirements:Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef, preferably in a steakhouse or fine dining environment, with a focus on menu creation and team building.Expertise in grilling, meat preparation, and knowledge of various cuts and aging processes.Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and manage a kitchen team from scratch.Experience in designing and costing menus, with a creative approach to both classic and modern dishes.Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management best practices.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, working collaboratively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed during the launch and ongoing operations of the restaurant.
