This position will include occasionally working at other WorkSafe Victoria sites when required and one Rostered Day Off (RDO) per week.
About the role
The Security and Concierge officer is part of the Security team who are responsible for delivering security support to WorkSafe Victoria (WSV). The team provide and promote a safe and secure customer focused work environment for WSV staff and site visitors.
Key responsibilities:
* Providing a high level of customer service to:
o members of the public enquiring about WorkSafe Victoria services,
o facility contractors who require inductions and access to buildings,
o Visitors attending meeting and events at various offices who need guidance on access and visiting procedures.
* Customer Service includes assessing client needs and responding appropriately within pre-defined parameters, ensuring clear communication sometimes in challenging situations,
* Monitoring surveillance equipment, including CCTV, intruder detection, duress systems, ensuring all systems are operating in accordance with the relevant procedures and responding to any incidents using pre-defined procedures.
* Ensuring any workplace incidents, including emergency situations (including building evacuations, lock downs) are responded to appropriately, accurately documented and followed up in accordance with standard procedures.
* Performing building inspections to ensure the security of building perimeters and restricted rooms and responding to any incidents using pre-defined procedures.
* Creating security passes in accordance with established procedures.
* Making decisions to resolve concerns, issues or problems relating to security matters or building facilities within pre-defined guidelines and escalating any matters to the Senior Security and Concierge officer as required.
* Ensuring any issues which may have an impact on the reputation of WSV or adversely affect WSV are communicated to the Security Manager immediately.
* Creating and maintaining records in various security related databases, utilising different software systems to manage daily security operations.
* Administering first aid to WSV employees within scope of knowledge and training ensuring appropriate reporting procedures are followed.
* Maintaining functional expertise which requires continual training and participation in emergency management exercises to ensure emergency and security response processes are maintained to a high standard. (This may include occasional after-hours or weekend training).
* Assisting other departments as required, including but not limited to Fleet or Staff Assist with some service delivery or acting as the contact point at established locations

About you
You have proven experience providing security and customer service in a large client based environment. You have knowledge of alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV and Fire & Safety procedures including Fire Indication panels. You are able to develop and maintain effective working relationships including the ability to work independently and co-operatively as a member of a team with limited supervision.
Additional criteria include the following;
* Demonstrated experience in the use of various security software programs. i.e. Honeywell EBI, Sine Visitor Management System, Gantner Locker system or similar.
* Proven ability in responding to security and emergency management incidents in line with established procedures. Including the ability to effectively direct others in these situations.
* Proven experience in communicating and responding to challenging situations such as distressed persons, demonstrating empathy, integrity and resilience under various circumstances.
* Strong data entry and written communication skills particularly in the area maintaining shift logs and entering information into databases.
* Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook systems, as well as strong skills in security related IT systems.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships including the ability to work independently and co-operatively as a member of a team with limited supervision.
* Flexibility in undertaking the work role. This includes the ability to work a flexible roster and the ability to attend any of the WorkSafe offices at short notice.
Qualifications:
* Victorian Security Licence
* Certificate II in Security Operations (or equivalent)
* First Aid Certification
