Are you interested in conserving biodiversity outside protected areas? Do you want to help shape the direction of area-based conservation around the world? We're hiring a postdoctoral research fellow to work on Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures (OECMs) with a collaborative team of researchers led out of Monash University in Australia. The project involves examining how to conserve biodiversity outside protected areas, and how to build integrated conservation landscapes. This is a two-year position starting in early 2025. The research fellow will work collaboratively as part of a team of researchers, including graduate students and a research assistant and be mentored by A/Prof Carly Cook and collaborators. Position Duties Conduct and publish biodiversity conservation research. Work with colleagues and graduate students on the development of joint research projects. Coordinate meetings and workshops that bring together academic and non-academic stakeholders. Skills and Qualifications PhD in the area of conservation sciences, applied ecology, decision science, environmental science or a closely related discipline. (Essential) A strong track record of peer-reviewed research publications in high quality journals (Essential) Expert knowledge in one or more aspects of biodiversity conservation and/or interdisciplinary science, environmental policy and management.
