About the role
The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for the routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance of CNC machinery and equipment in a high-precision machine shop. This role ensures the efficient operation of CNC machines, minimizes downtime, and supports overall production targets through effective maintenance practices as well as troubleshooting maintenance issues and repairing equipment as required.
Duties
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC machines, tooling, and other shop equipment.Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair breakdowns in CNC machinery to reduce downtime and maintain optimal productivity.Liaise with machine supplier maintenance support teams to ensure scheduled major preventive service is completed on time.Manage & maintain an inventory of spare part components to satisfy preventive maintenance activities and high-risk componentry.Conduct inspections of machinery and tooling to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.Prepare and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to support all CNC machines and associated equipment.Maintain a safe clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Skills & experience
Experience managing a TPM system preferred but not essential.CNC machinery knowledge.Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, etc.Basic Excel and Word knowledge.Good written and verbal communication skills.Seniority level: Entry level
