What you'll be doing You will work closely with hospital staff and the pharmacy team to deliver a consistently high level of clinical pharmacy service to all areas of Mater Health. You will be responsible for operationally and professionally managing a team of pharmacists and technicians to deliver a consistently high level of clinical pharmacy service, providing customers, patients, carers and other health professionals with support and information relating to medication and ensure the safe, effective and quality use of medicines to optimise patient outcomes. Your time will be split between clinical service provision and managerial responsibilities which may include but is not limited to: Providing responsive customer-focused service Rostering and coordinating workload allocation coaching and mentoring to encourage accountability and support team members providing regular feedback, assessment and development of staff performance to enable career progression and succession planning collaborate with ward managers and other key stakeholders to improve patient care Leadership of and contribution to quality improvements including implementation of pharmacy automation systems in the dispensary Your leadership will ensure medication safety practices are upheld, support and information relating to medication is available and an accurate and efficient service is provided to all areas. This will include infusion clinics, hospital in the home and general adult medical and surgical wards as well as the opportunity to work in specialty areas such as paediatrics, adolescent health, neurosciences and critical care. This role will also provide opportunity to work in clinical ward areas as well as in the dispensary including a share of evening, public holiday and weekend shifts as well as provision of an on-call service on a rostered basis. As well as collaborating with other Pharmacist Team Leaders and working closely with the technician Inpatient Team Leader you will have the opportunity to engage with all other Mater Pharmacy teams including Mater Redland and Mater Springfield, Inventory Management, Clinical Trials, Medicines Information, Community Services and the on-site Production Unit. Salary range: $60.01 - $64.55 (Health Practitioner Level 4) per hour plus superannuation as per the relevant Enterprise Agreement About you To be considered for this role you must have: Bachelor of Pharmacy and APHRA registration to practice as a Pharmacist (without restrictions) A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacist The flexibility to work a share of all shifts including evenings, weekends, public holidays and on-call Prior demonstrated experience in ward-based clinical pharmacy will be highly regarded ANZCAP recognition at registrar or consultant level in a relevant specialty area will be highly regarded Previous experience in a leadership position will be highly regarded Previous exposure and experience in pharmacy automation will be highly regarded You will also demonstrate a professional attitude, effective communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
