About the Role
We are seeking a skilled speech pathologist to join our team at Bass Coast Specialist School.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with our therapy team, including a music therapist, consulting occupational therapist, and consulting speech pathologist, to provide speech pathology services for students aged 5-18 with intellectual disability.
Main Responsibilities
* Assess, monitor, and report on student individual needs, including documentation to support Disability Inclusion Profiles.
* Deliver individual, small group, or whole class interventions to support students.
* Organise own time effectively and seek assistance when needed.
* Maintain confidentiality and effective communication while working with students, teachers, parents, and other school clients.
Selection Criteria
The following selection criteria must be addressed in your application (max. 2 pages per criterion):
* Demonstrated interest in working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary professional team to improve outcomes for students.
* Willingness to learn Alternative and Augmentative Communication systems and commitment to implement these systems across the school.
* Ability to use clinical reasoning and design therapy interventions within the educational setting, including programs within the classroom.
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals, including teachers, parents, and students.
* Commitment to ongoing professional learning, both within the school and externally.
* Able to work independently, utilising effective time management strategies, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must have:
* A qualification in speech pathology.
* Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
