Our client is a globally revered financial institution seeking a highly experienced and technically sound Fund Accounting Subject Matter Expert to lead a team of Business Analysts focused on fund accounting/administration and change management projects.
The ideal candidate will come from an extensive background of fund accounting with strong management skills coupled with strong business analysis and change project experience. Duties will be approximately equally split between managing a team of business analysts and performing hands on BA work.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Leadership
o Maintain and manage resource capacity demands ensuring business change needs can be met; employ appropriate reporting and escalations as necessary.
o Lead, manage and motivate the change team to deliver project, program and strategic objectives to the agreed timescale.
o Provide coaching and mentoring to the team including identifying training needs, tailor to specific needs as appropriate.
* Business Analysis & Requirements Analysis
o Analyse business problem and opportunities.
o Engage stakeholders to establish a common understanding of the business needs; identify and correctly translate business needs into business requirements, not solution requirements.
o Validate business requirements with stakeholders to ensure they are based on an understanding of the stakeholder needs, expectations, constraints, and interfaces.
* Organisational & Business Process Design
o Gain a firm understanding of the impacts of the solution on People, Process and Technology.
o Engage stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of (and commitment to) all aspects of the project including objectives, scope, risks, benefits and any element they may be providing.
o Gather all the necessary inputs and review to fully understand the requirements, specifications, applicable standards etc.
o Utilise design thinking principals and business architecture solutions to drive solutions that are transformative, effective and optimised.
* Testing Approach, Test Cases & Test Execution
o Consult and input into test strategy, planning and execution by collaborating with the test teams and the wider business stakeholders.
o Assist the business and the test team in the production (and where appropriate execution) of test cases across the various test cycles.
* Implementation/Business Readiness Activities
o Work closely with PMs and other parties as directed to manage and execute runsheets for the successful implementation of the project.
o Document the new business procedures or changes to existing business procedures as a result of the project implementation.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Degree qualified in IT, Business, or related discipline; and / or relevant work experience in a similar role.
* Management
o 5+ years management experience in leading teams of at least 4 people.
o Be comfortable in dealing with senior stakeholders (up to C-Suite) in both internally and with external organisations and regulators.
o Experience in implementing best practices and change frameworks.
* Business Analysis
o 8+ years Business Analysis experience within Financial Services, Superannuation or Life Insurance Industry
o Comprehensive understanding of project lifecycles from initiation through to implementation
o Waterfall (PMI, Prince) and Agile (Lean, Scrum, Scaled) methodologies experience
o Techniques; Design thinking, Mind mapping, User stories
o MS. Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, JIRA, TFS, SharePoint. Also preferred: HiPort & pControl experience.
* Technical Skills
o Funds management, Superannuation or Life Insurance experience – required.
o Experience in custody, middle-office, back-office administration – highly desirable.
o Prior experience with process mapping, interface and data mapping – highly desirable.
o Prior experience in system development, change management and/or client service delivery – desirable.
o Prior experience working with relational databases, Business Intelligence reporting, unit pricing, Unit Registry, and/or accounting software – desirable .
o Australian Regulatory and/or Taxation experience – desirable.
