Position Overview: Are you an enthusiastic accounting graduate looking to kick-start your career in a dynamic and rewarding environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part-Time Accountant to join our clients team in Southport. In this role, you’ll have the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of clients in the aged care and NDIS sectors, gaining valuable experience in payroll management, BAS preparation, financial reporting, and more. This role also offers exposure to ad hoc projects such as budget development and financial modeling, allowing you to enhance your skills and grow professionally. Key Responsibilities: 1. Manage a portfolio of clients and handle their regular payroll activities, including processing payroll, calculating wages, and managing PAYG withholding, ensuring compliance with Single Touch Payroll (STP) requirements. 2. Prepare and lodge BAS statements for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant taxation laws and regulations. 3. Generate financial reports and statements, analysing financial data to provide insights and recommendations to clients. 4. Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoicing, payments, and debtor management. 5. Liaise with clients to address any accounting-related queries and provide timely and accurate financial advice and support. 6. Undertake ad hoc projects such as budget development, financial modeling, and other financial analyses to support clients’ strategic decision-making. 7. Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information in accordance with organisational policies and legal requirements. Qualifications and Skills: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2. Strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Xero, Quickbooks, and/ or MYOB. 4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 5. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and prioritise workload. 6. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
