The key duties of the position include:The Role
Lead the development of operational interoperability objectives in order to shape strategic policy and OAI planning by HQJOC and components to achieve theatre campaign effects.
Support the maintenance and evaluation of operational interoperability.
Develop, evaluate and report on Joint Interoperability required to enable operational readiness and achievement of Theatre Campaign Effects
Ensure that the operational interoperability objectives are informed by and inform Defence International Engagement Policy, including emerging Initiatives, align with Departmental capability and interoperability frameworks
Work with initiative owners to contribute to operational assessment of Interoperability opportunities
Work with initiative to provide operational interoperability guidance to support planning
Support the incorporation of Interoperability requirements within the Theatre Campaign Plan in particular the country plans
Act as Branch lead for VCDF liaison particularly in relation to Interoperability and feedback to the Branch on interoperability and capability impacts
Maintain an environmental awareness of changes in interoperability and capability planning
About our TeamHQJOC J58 – International Engagement and International Exercises. Core functions include:
Strategic planning of HQJOC operational international engagement and key leadership engagement
Bilateral international exercise concept development and design
Leadership of a range of bilateral international exercise and operations working groups
Secretariat function for key military to military committees and international dialogue
Leadership and coordination of HQJOC input to International Policy Papers

They will have a background in international policy or engagement, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to positively lead work streams in a diverse team. They will also possess the following:

Effective representation and writing skills and stakeholder management, building and sustaining relationships with a network of key people internally and externally

Experience in development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to the administration function
Delivery and management of complex programs with extensive stakeholders
Experience in managing stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes
Interoperability experience
