About the candidate A minimum of 5 years of experience in a trading, sales, or marketing role. Experience in the steel industry, with a solid understanding of steel products, supply chains, and customer needs. Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, international trade, or a related field. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, influencing decision-making at all levels. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management and clients. Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyse complex financial data, create forecasts, and report on market performance. Demonstrated knowledge of contract management, pricing strategies, and sales negotiation processes. Proficiency in using CRM systems, inventory management software, and other business analytics tools. Experience working in geographically dispersed teams or in cross-cultural business environments. A track record of successfully identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities in a competitive market. Strong market trend analysis skills to identify and develop new business prospects.
