Your role and responsibilities
Join our team as Quality Control Manager! In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the local Traction business has the necessary capabilities to effectively control products and systems. Each day, you will ensure compliance with internal, customer, and industry requirements within a cost-effective and safe working environment. You will also showcase your expertise by developing and implementing standards and test methods to ensure only compliant products, software, and services are released to the customer.
The work model for the role is: Onsite. Planned commencement date: May 2025.
This role is contributing to the Traction Division in Maryborough. Main stakeholders are each of the functions within the local team (Assembly, Test, Engineering, Procurement, Operations).
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Quality Initiatives: Design, plan, and execute tests, controls, verifications, and validations for products, systems, and software production processes.
* Coordinate Quality Interfaces: Ensure seamless integration between supplier quality, production quality, testing, validation, and engineering activities.
* Promote Quality Training: Drive quality-related training, fostering a culture of integrity and results orientation, and ensure our team has the necessary hardware and software capabilities.
* Deploy Quality Metrics: Implement and manage metrics and tools for quality control across incoming items, production, factory, software test labs, and final inspections. You will own the Quality Management Plan and lead all quality audit activities.
Qualifications For The Role
* We are seeking a passionate Quality Control Manager with a strong background in Quality Management Systems (QMS) and QA/QC.
* Expertise in Quality Control: Proficiency in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Six Sigma.
* Technical Background: Preferred qualifications or experience in a technical field, with 5 years in manufacturing, especially in electrical/electronic assembly and motors, focusing on Health and Safety.
* Metrics and KPIs: Ability to establish, implement, and maintain metrics, KPIs, and tools to monitor and control product quality.
* Problem-Solving: Experience in Root Cause Analysis within a Lean manufacturing environment, with the ability to escalate quality or safety issues.
* Continuous Improvement: Demonstrable passion for system improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
* Communication Skills: Strong ability to collaborate, advise, train, report, and lead, with proficiency in MS Office and quality control software.
* HSE Knowledge: Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) concepts, application, reporting, and risks.
