About the Role Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Scheme Support Division, the General Manager Carbon Markets role is a complex and diverse role requiring a high degree of vision, leadership, management skills, economic analysis, commercial and market insights.
As a member of the agency business leadership team, you will inspire staff in the Carbon Markets Branch and the CER broadly on how to enable the best outcomes for the CER's purpose. This is an exciting and important time for the agency with new schemes and markets in addition to existing and rewarding work influencing and providing advice to policy makers and the market.
You will build effective, high performing teams and have the ability to lead, mentor and develop others. As well as providing expert advice and counsel to the Executive General Manager, the General Manager Carbon Markets Branch will also provide strategic direction for the branch to fulfil legislative objectives and divisional and agency priorities. You will ensure capability of the branch to deliver its objectives including through development of staff, continuous improvement in business processes and anticipating the needs of internal and external clients. You will also lead the provision of strategic economic analysis insights and advice to support policy development and scheme delivery.
