Who will you be working with? Reporting to the Global Operations Director, the role is to be the safety and quality assurance lead for Wabtec Digital Mine Operations, driving compliance to quality systems, continual improvements and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, contractual, legislative, regulatory and incident response readiness requirements.
Where is the position located? The position is located in Fountaindale, central coast region of NSW.
How will you make a difference? Working closely with the local and off-shore cross-functional teams, the role will ensure all Quality assurance processes and procedures are implemented and in place to be in line with the QMS, and that the operations are supported with a hands-on leader. You will improve/develop and implement OHSE policies that meet legislative requirements, whilst providing advice to contribute positively to the health, safety and well-being of all employees, contractors and the environment.
What will your typical day look like?
* Promote and ensure the appropriate standards of health, safety and environmental management are adhered to.
* Establish and maintain local Wabtec QMS Procedures, Policies, Registers and Regulatory and Auditing Programs.
* In collaboration with regional safety, identify and improve/develop OHSE policies, systems and processes for Digital Mine, whilst monitoring legislative requirements to ensure positive OHSE outcomes are reached for staff, clients and contractors.
* Provide direct mentorship to production personnel to continuously improve Quality culture, and implement best practice management systems in the workplace.
* Act as first point of support to production personnel, support staff, and members of the leadership team during the resolution of quality issues and the implementation of corrective actions.
* Participate in the development of new initiatives and solutions for continuous improvement based upon the risk of the business.
* Define quality root causes for non-conformances, and develop/recommend corrective and preventive actions.
* Measure quality KPIs with support from production personnel and members of the leadership team.
* Investigate and report on Quality Incidents and non-conformance issues.
* Work closely with cross functional teams of engineering, operations, supply chain, service and commercial team etc. to integrate quality plans as applicable for implementation.
* Maintain and foster relationships with current and potential stakeholders, in particular, clients, service providers, contractors, subcontractors and employees.
What do we want to know about you?
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical/production/electrical engineering and Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety.
* 10+ years' of quality systems & service quality assurance experience in the Mining/Manufacturing or related industry.
* ISO45001 Certification/Lead Auditor Accreditation.
* Six Sigma/Lean certifications or high level of understanding would be advantageous.
* Track record of building relationships, influencing and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyse data, generate opinions and implement innovative solutions to complex problems.
* Qualification/significant experience in Tap root, ICAM, 5 Why Investigation Methods.
* Six Sigma/LEAN 6Sigma Certification (Preferred)
