The Senior Communications Advisor supports the Authority in planning and leading effective, proactive and comprehensive communications and issues management that promotes the vision and enhances the reputation of the GCWA. The role develops, manages and implements strategic communications plans, stakeholder and community engagement processes and leads media relations, issues management, and brand management. As the Senior Communications Advisor, you will support the GCWA in delivering the strategic objectives of the organisation, support delivery of the Infrastructure program through leadership of stakeholder engagement, and engage users and communities in waterways management. You will be a key member of the Planning & Innovation Unit, a small multi-disciplinary team responsible for the long-term strategic planning of the waterways. The role also works across the organisation with other teams to implement communication plans and activities. The role reports to the Manager (Planning and Innovation) and works closely with the CEO, management team and with the GCWA Board, when required.
