About the role We currently have an opportunity for a Network IT Specialist to join our Telecommunications team. This role can work from home in NSW with the possibility of some travel across the Essential Energy footprint as appropriate for connection and collaboration purposes. About you The Network IT Specialist is a highly skilled technical position responsible for the day to day performance and operation of the Telecommunications IP network within agreed business service levels. The position is also responsible for the detailed design, implementation, operation and documentation of changes, enhancements and configurations associated with the WAN, LAN, Internet, security systems including network firewalls, WIFI systems and all associated supporting systems, reporting and integration requirements. The role is responsible for the complete lifecycle and performance management of Telecommunications IP assets and ensuring network components remain in a supportable state. The role is also responsible for monitoring industry standards, technology trends, researching and developing changes to support the design and use of these technologies and systems within Essential Energy. Experience required Extensive experience in a similar communications role in a large geographically diverse environment Advanced technical experience in the design technologies and best practices used in the telecommunications industry Sound knowledge and experience of the challenges associated with Telecommunication asset lifecycle management across a large geographic region Extensive working knowledge and experience of the infrastructure required to support complex data communications including MPLS based Wide Area Networks, Cisco core routing and switching, Citrix Software Defined Routing (SD WAN), Aruba wireless networks, firewalls, Internet and associated security systems, cloud connectivity, monitoring and management systems Experience and strong understanding of industry standards and direction Significant experience in, and knowledge of, the design applications and systems required to produce quality outcomes. Skills required Advanced skills in operating and designing network asset changes, upgrades and enhancements, across all technology areas Skills in creating, reviewing, and implementing process and procedure to cater for the operation and design of the IP network Skills in conducting enterprise required audits and preparing reports from detailed analysis with recommendations for implementation Strong skills in coaching, mentoring and providing technical advice to key stakeholders, customers, fellow workers and other business units Strong communications and interpersonal skills in liaising and conducting business with key stakeholders, customers and peak bodies Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make appropriate decisions in compliance with company policies, procedures and best practice Sound skills in computer operations and business systems relevant to the role.
