As an experienced machinery operator, you will be completing various maintenance work across our prawn farm. Your main responsibility will be maintaining the roads across the farm as well as keeping vegetation levels down using slasher’s, herbicide, and whipper snippers. At times it may be required to also step in and help with general farm operations.
Proserpine: Located on our prawn farm halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you’ll work in a stunning area. You will be working Monday – Friday, 6am – 14:30pm.
What does your week look like?
Road Maintenance: Grading and maintaining roads throughout the site, repairing potholes to ensure the rest of the staff can operate around the farm safely. Maintaining fire breaks throughout the year to mitigate bush fire risk.
Vegetation Management: Use of slasher/herbicide to keep vegetation down around pond edges. Manual management using whipper snippers where required.
General Farm Operations: As this position reports to the Feed Coordinator, you may be required to help with farm operations during busier periods. This may include jumping into a feed truck and help with refilling hoppers or assisting with repairing/maintaining any infrastructure related to feeding.
