Funds in Court (FIC) is an Office of the Supreme Court of Victoria that deals with funds paid into Court.
Funds are paid into Court by other courts or by the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT). This money may be compensation from an accident or injury, from a will, or for people under 18 who have lost a parent or have been victims of crime.
Funds are paid into Court by a court order usually because a person is under a legal disability. This might be because they:
* have had an accident, injury, or illness
* have an intellectual or physical disability (or both)
* are under 18.
About the Role
This full-time ongoing Receptionist position is responsible for being the first point of contact for all enquiries to Funds in Court (FIC).
Key responsibilities include:
* Performing client and telephone reception duties, directing enquiries to the appropriate section and officer within FIC.
* Promptly assessing telephone inquiries.
* Dealing with inquiries at first instance, judging priorities and status, and referring only those inquiries which need to be referred to relevant officers in priority order.
* Taking responsibility for providing responses to internal and external queries.
* Providing general information about FIC.
* Performing administrative functions to support the effective processing of clients' applications for funds, in line with FIC policies and guidelines.
About You
* You should have experience using a call management system.
* Proven ability to perform all aspects of receptionist duties.
* Excellent telephone manner, particularly when working with individuals who may have Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Intellectual Disability, or Mental Health issues.
