Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. We offer market-leading products and services, supported by some of the world’s best systems and processes. The Home Buying team is building a brighter future for all by unlocking the dream of Home Ownership for all Australians. This is achieved through the end-to-end management of the Banks Home Loan business including distribution through proprietary and third-party channels, acquisition, retention, customer experience, risk, change and continuous improvement.
The Home Buying Manage & Own Crew is responsible for the in-life experience of our Home Loan customers ensuring customers maximise value from their loan and can seamlessly make changes when they need to. We support customers across all channels, Digital, Proprietary and Third Party Broker as well as our partners in the Group Operations Customer Retention team.

You will report to the Crew Lead, Manage & Own, and as a Product Owner (at the Executive Manager level) you will be responsible for setting the strategic vision and roadmap for the product in partnership with business stakeholders and product management to maximise delivery of business value and support benefits realisation.
You will continuously iterate and enhance solutions to create better outcomes and value for customer and stakeholders. You will move forward with less-than-perfect information, and quickly pivot to changing work demands, and possess the ability to accurately evaluate complex and ambiguous situations to reach timely, objective and informed decisions. You will influence others by communicating value with credibility and authority.
5. Accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations.
6. Act as the voice of the business and translate this for the team.
7. Attract and develop talent including interviewing, recruitment, hiring, and mentoring of product owners.
8. Create a long-term business culture and mode of operation across the Product Owner community and chapter.
9. Establish the value proposition for the product in collaboration with stakeholders (Business and Technology).
10. Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
11. Lead a squad and a team of product owners leading aligned squads.
12. Provide visible leadership of the CBA values.
13. Lead and develop the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/business units (Business,
14. Operations and Technology) to manage the delivery of the product roadmap.
15. Maintain a well prioritised backlog to incrementally deliver business and customer outcomes.
16. Manage the Squad’s performance against defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.
17. Own and manage pricing, financials, licensing, Return On Investment and/or supplier relationships.
18. Release prototypes and iterate a product that meets customer needs and achieves the Crew’s goals.
19. Influence senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to.
20. Previous leadership experience within financial services, specifically in Home Buying, process automation and group operations
21. Demonstrated experience in translating product vision to roadmap and backlog
22. Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship-building skills
23. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to prioritise effectively.
24. Ability to deliver written and verbal updates to senior executive level.
25. Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and strategically problem solve.
26. Strong collaboration with teams on work streams/ project activities end-to-end and independently manage deliverables.
27. Experience working in an agile environment advantageous.
