About the Role The now seek a motivated and skilled Internal Sales and Application Engineer to join their team based in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs. This position provides technical support, application engineering, internal sales, and customer service for our Fluid Power and Planetary Gearbox product lines. You will also contribute to the application engineering of Gears, Couplings, and Brakes. Reporting to the General Manager Torque Transmission, this role is integral to ensuring customer satisfaction and supporting the successful delivery of complex projects. Key Responsibilities Technical Support Provide high-standard technical support and product information to customers and internal staff. Offer applications engineering support, including product selection and custom design assistance. Develop 3D models, 2D drawings, hydraulic schematics, and perform engineering calculations to support applications engineering. Project manage the delivery of complex projects. Internal Sales Prepare cost estimates and quotations. Handle telephone, mail, and fax orders, ensuring prompt and accurate processing. Support sales administration by reviewing outstanding orders, sourcing stock for back orders, and notifying customers of delivery status. Record lost sales opportunities and maintain databases for enquiries, orders, and quotation follow-up. Liaise with the workshop to support planning and scheduling functions. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer data in the company's CRM system. Manage opportunity and enquiry registers, informing internal and external customers of progress. Customer Service Provide high-level administration and sales support to staff and customers, including occasional store duties. Handle customer telephone enquiries promptly. Manage back-order reporting and status updates for fluid power and planetary gearbox sales orders. Purchasing Purchase stock and non-stock items to support sales orders within approved authority levels. Recommend stock purchases and manage stock levels in conjunction with TT management. Skills and Experience As the ideal candidate and to make the transition as smooth as possible, you will possess the following key attributes: Strong technical knowledge in fluid power and planetary gearbox systems. Experience in applications engineering and project management. Proficiency in developing 3D models, 2D drawings, and hydraulic schematics. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage sales orders and provide accurate quotations. Familiarity with CRM systems and maintaining customer data. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
