Therapeutic Support Manager
Full-Time Permanent Position
Located in Newcastle, NSW
Lead a team of support workers to provide therapeutic care to children and young people in our out of home care services by providing excellent support, supervision and management.
About the role:
Providing support, supervision and coaching to the team of Therapeutic Youth Workers
Manage and maintaining rosters and appropriate staffing levels
Day to day coordination of the care of children and young people
Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of documentation, plans and reviews
Ensuring quality life story work by the Therapeutic Youth Workers
Managing informal and formal complaints and feedback
Ensuring mandatory internal and external reporting occurs
The role consists of a 76-hour fortnight, with a combination of administrative shifts and on-floor shifts.
About you:
Essential Requirements:
Relevant management experience of Children and Young People in Out Of Home Care who have a disability and/or with complex care needs due to trauma-based background and/or relevant management experience across the education, health care, early childhood or community services sector.
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience managing staff who regularly face crisis situations in the course of their work
Knowledge and experience to work within the relevant legislation, Out of Home Care Standards, policies, and procedures
Capacity to apply culturally appropriate practices with Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Excellent oral and written communication and demonstrated administration skills and computer literacy
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Current Drivers’ License
Willingness to work outside of business hours
Current Working with Children Check
Vaccinated against Covid-19.
