We seek a skilled individual to oversee our kitchen by effectively managing team members and deciding on dishes to serve in a fast-paced setting. Key responsibilities include planning food preparation, supervising staff, monitoring quality, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in a similar role, an AQF qualification, and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Salary: $70,000 - $75,000• Plan and direct food preparation, cooking, and presentation from entrees to mains.• Set up the kitchen with utensils and equipment.• Work with staff for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies.• Work with the Director to plan menus that are flavourful and popular.• Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.• Monitor and ensure food quality, quantity, taste, and presentation meet customer preference.• Perform food preparation tasks and check quality/presentation of orders.• Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time.• Ensure the kitchen is kept to a high standard by providing a clean, hygienic environment.• Assist the Director in routine and specific tasks.• Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen.• Comply with all health and safety regulations.
