About the role: The Japanese Corporate Banking Department provides banking and financial services to support businesses of Japanese companies operating in Australia. Our customer relationship is typically a part of a global relationship network originated in Japan. We provide our services to help customers achieve their business goals in domestic markets and integrate into their global growth. Our services include lending, deposit, FX, other market and derivative products, banking transactions using an online platform, asset management, and import/export finance. What you'll be doing: Support managers in ensuring the portfolio is managed consistent with MUFG's operation and strategic framework. Note, this role is not work location specific and needs to handle and contribute to Oceania-wide (Australia and New Zealand) tasks. Under supervision of senior management in the credit analyst team, the role will require the successful candidate to:Manage credit & portfolio related requests – periodic review of borrower rating and preparation of credit applications through communication with relationship managers and credit officers in HQ (if any). Manage credit linked administrative tasks – maintenance of system records, covenant checks, documentation, and various reporting etc., through smooth communication between relevant parties. Generate historical and forward-looking financial and industry analysis through the credit process. Support the relationship managers in preparation of pitches/proposals. Expectation is to develop credit and sector analytical skills, understand banking products, contribute to team and relationship managers, and become capable of managing the credit process independently. What we are looking for: 2+ years experience in corporate banking preferred. Sound analytical skills to interpret credit data and draft reports from experiences gained in a Financial Institution, Credit Agency, Accounting Firm, Consultancy or equivalent. Good communication skills to report the state of financial condition using clear and precise descriptions. Good understanding of corporate banking products. MS Office experience with key capabilities in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others. Fluent Japanese speaker (preferred).
