Job Description
Spread Joy by joining our Volunteer Team!
The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person, right here in The Shire.
From sport to art, pets to gardening, walking to yoga, baking to craft, movies to music, coffee to crosswords… whatever you love, you can share it with someone who loves it too.
As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in their own home.
We are seeking a friendly volunteer to visit an elderly lady at home for a cuppa and a chat. Our client loves to reminisce; she has a large extended family and would enjoy meeting a Greek-speaking volunteer to visit her weekly or fortnightly for an hour. Her background is broad, having been in the financial industry, dressmaking, and a coffee shop. She enjoys long walks, creative arts, reading, sudoku, and TV soaps. Please reach out if you would like to meet our client and volunteer with HammondCare.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
