Key duties and responsibilitiesCloud Engineers and/or Architects will be responsible for designing enterprise-level cloud platform architectures for MS Azure and M365, creating high-level solution architectures for cloud-based systems, and providing detailed architectural guidance to cloud engineers. They will analyse the impact of user and stakeholder requirements, ensure adherence to whole-of-government standards, and offer technical input during the design and build of cloud-based systems. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects, and testers, to deliver solutions that meet stakeholder needs and project goals, while working with the Service Experience team to ensure user experience considerations are incorporated. Additionally, they will liaise with ICT Engagement and Enterprise Architecture teams to align with target architectures and technologies, provide expertise in platform automation (including testing, continuous integration, and deployment), advocate for key enterprise architecture principles, and ensure solutions align with the DTA's Digital Service Standard. As strategic leaders and influencers, they will also perform additional duties as required.

Essential Criteria:Cloud Experience: Proven experience in implementing cloud-based solutions using technologies such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Manager, Azure DevOps, and Visual Studio for code development, management, repositories, and CI/CD deployments. Experience integrating custom-built applications with third-party systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.Cultural Fit: Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed teams and work with both technical and non-technical staff at all levels. Skilled in mentoring and fostering team harmony through collaboration.Agile: Experience working within Agile multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, user-friendly, and reliable solutions that meet stakeholder, citizen, and business needs. Capable of adapting to changes in direction and scope as new insights, challenges, or opportunities arise.Technical Skills: At least 5 years of experience in implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies. The Cloud Architect/Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to develop and manage enterprise and application-level architectures for MS Azure and provide impact analysis and technical guidance in the design and development of project work in alignment with whole-of-government standards.Desirable Criteria:Proven experience in providing technical leadership across both project and operational tasks.Strong background and understanding of cloud-based technologies and architectures.Experience in application and integration or infrastructure platform architecture.At least 3 years of experience in designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise systems.Please note: Remote working arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the supervising manager, subject to business needs.
