Registered Nurse (RN) 6104 Med/Surg - Nights (FT)
The Registered Nurse reports to the Unit Manager and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
Job Specific:
* Provides direct quality patient care based on the plan of care.
* Participates in professional development of self and staff to enhance patient-focused nursing practice.
* Develops, implements, documents and evaluates the plan of care in collaboration with other team members.
* Actively participates in unit's performance improvement initiatives.
If assigned as charge nurse:
* Uses knowledge of the staffing plan to develop an appropriate shift assignment.
* Able to assess the need for adjusting staff resources based on changes in census or acuity.
* Coordinates with other disciplines and department the process of admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Hospital:
* Adheres to organization-wide policies and procedures.
* Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
Other Duties As Assigned:
* Graduate of accredited college, university or school of nursing.
* Current license or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in State of Texas.
* CPR (BLS).
* NIH Stroke Certification within 90 days from date of hire.
* ACLS certification biannually for Emergency Dept., Cardiac Cath Lab, PACU, ICU and House Supervisors.
