The Opportunity With a strong pipeline of exciting projects, our team is growing. We are looking for an experienced Secondary (Power) Engineer to bolster our technical capability to deliver high voltage substation designs to an enviable list of transmission and distribution clients. This opportunity will allow you to be involved in major energy transition projects in Australia alongside a high performing team. This is an exciting and varied role for an enthusiastic individual willing to grow into a leader of an employee-owned business. In this role, the key responsibilities include: Development of secondary electrical designs of transmission and distribution substations up to voltages of 500 kV; Provide detailed design services for high voltage systems control, protection and SCADA including panel layouts, detailed schematics, cable schedules, cable connection schedules Work under the supervision of a Senior Secondary Engineer (local and/or international); Work with junior engineers to train and mentor them in preparing secondary designs; Develop understanding of client standards; Undertake self-checks of work packages using standard checklists, preparing packages for verification and quality checks; Collaborate with teams based in Australia and New Zealand to deliver coordinated designs to meet client expectations. What we'll like about you Your technical skills are based on solid fundamentals and have been proven through the delivery of power engineering projects. You are experienced and have a passion for coaching and mentoring emerging engineers. Preferably, you will have proven capability across a range of the following areas: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering; Experience in developing secondary and/or protection designs for high voltage electricity networks; Understanding of the various engineering disciplines Be organised and able to multi-task; Have effective communication skills especially verbal; Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a team of engineers and designers (locally and/or internationally) to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget; Take pride in delivering successful outcomes; Enjoy working in a team environment; · Any consultancy experience is advantageous but not essential.
