St Joseph's OSHC Service is seeking a confident and experienced educator to be a Responsible Person (RP) and join our dedicated team. The RP will take charge of the service in the absence of the coordinator, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
We are part of the St Joseph’s Parish and Primary School community, operating for over 20 years. Our active service involves children and staff in various projects, including a community garden with parishioners and the school. We offer before school care, after school care, and vacation care for up to 90 children.
Employment Type: Permanent, part-time 20-28 hours per week
Split shifts: 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM & 2:15 PM to 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership: Step in as the primary leader during the coordinator's absence, providing direction and support to staff and ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
* Supervision: Oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
* Program Implementation: Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children.
* Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, staff, and children, fostering a positive community atmosphere.
* Administration: Assist with administrative tasks, including attendance records, incident reporting, and compliance documentation.
* Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed, and that the environment is clean and well-maintained.
Qualifications/Attributes:
* Education: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent.
* Experience: Previous experience in an OSHC or childcare setting, with a proven ability to lead a team.
* Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, families, and staff.
* Availability: Flexible and reliable, with the ability to commit to split shifts as outlined.
* Confident decision-maker who can lead effectively in the coordinator’s absence.
* Passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a positive learning environment.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
