About The Role
This position is available for an immediate start.
As a Graduate Operational Technology Engineer, you'll be offered a permanent role and get the opportunity to apply what you've studied – working in the field solving real-world challenges, challenges that span and extend beyond your discipline. You will have the opportunity to gain valued experience in Operational Technology.
Operational Technology (OT) in mining encompasses specialised hardware and software systems that monitor, control, and automate equipment and processes in both open cut and underground operations. In open cut mining, OT includes autonomous haulage solutions, digital planning tools, and AI-driven systems that optimise extraction while minimising environmental impact. Underground mining OT features longwall automation with advanced sensors, deep automation systems for orchestrating loaders and trucks, and tele-remote technologies enabling operators to control multiple machines from safe control rooms. Both environments utilise OT to enhance safety by reducing human exposure to hazardous conditions, increase operational efficiency through real-time monitoring and data analysis, and improve productivity via automation of repetitive or dangerous tasks. These technologies represent the convergence of traditional industrial equipment with digital innovations, transforming mining operations through increased precision, reduced costs, and improved working conditions.
