We have a requirement for our plant in Devonport, Tasmania, for a multiskilled individual to assist the team with various aspects of malt production, raw material assessment, supply chain functions, laboratory analysis and maintenance.
As a Production/Maintenance Technician, you will rotate through all aspects of malt production, dry grain handling and laboratory analysis.
The role requires the participation in physical tasks, a focus on plant hygiene, diligent paperwork skills and commitment to SHE, Quality Systems, Environmental Issues and Customer Awareness.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIESOperations:
Responsible for the control of process conditions to produce quality malt in plants and maintain levels of any stocks required for production and hygiene, ensuring any breakdowns or perceived problems are reported, completing documentation, inspection, intake and processing functions for raw materials, ensuring the quality of malt and barley stocks through the effective control of cleaning process and storage and other duties as required.
Maintenance:
Responsible for the repair, servicing of plant equipment and for the accurate keeping of repair records and ordering of materials, preventative maintenance activity, maintenance service requests, effective immediate response to process alarms.
Safety:
Accountable for the safety of yourself, your work colleagues, customers and contractors, contribute to and influence an environment where SHE is an integral part of how we do business, taking ownership and being involved and committed to achieve a safe workplace, working to achieve a zero harm work environment and strive for continuous improvement on SHE performance, assisting with the creation and evaluation of risk assessments and standard operating procedures, participating in Gemba Walk program and feed results back to site management.

Food Safety & Quality Management:
Contributing to the development of a food safety culture, adhering to processes, procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management, ensuring plant HACCP, Quality and Continuous Improvement systems are followed, and requirements are met.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEYou may be an Apprentice in the maintenance field looking for a new workplace, or a Production Technician with aspirations of moving into maintenance.
You must be a self-starter, agile, robust, and a resilient team player able to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
In addition, you should bring with you:
