As a bushfire consultant, you will be supporting the development of structure plans and subdivisions, development applications, and tourism land uses. You will contribute to and prepare Bushfire Attack Level assessments, Bushfire Management Plans and Bushfire Emergency Plans as well as certifying compliance with these management plans. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our growing work in developing plans for ecologically conscious prescribed burning. Designing bushfire management plans to reduce risk is at the heart of what we do, and developing safer communities is what we're passionate about. In this role, you will also have opportunities to work closely with our ecologists and impact assessment professionals to develop holistic solutions to managing bushfire risk.About you: You're going to love this role if you:Have experience in undertaking fieldwork in the Perth metropolitan area and surrounds.Understand vegetation structure and dynamics.Can interpret, understand and apply legislation and policies into technical reporting.Love to learn and be challenged.Want to be a valued member of a team.Have experience with project management.Are a confident and effective communicator.Are details oriented.What you'll need to fulfil the role:A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Law, Environmental Planning or related field of studyUp to 5 years' of experience in bushfire consulting or a related discipline such as environmental planning/approvals, ecology etc.Previous experience as a consultant (desirable).FPAA BPAD Level 1 or Level 2 accreditation (desirable) or aspiration to work towards BPAD accreditation.Experience in the preparation of quality technical reports.Current C Class driver's licence and the ability to travel if required.Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.If you fit the criteria above, love to work hard and enjoy a laugh with your team mates, then we think you'll be a great fit.We will offer you: The opportunity to work alongside and learn from an amazing, diverse team of environmental consultants.
