Job SummaryThe Field Service Technician will provide breakdown and general service for all makes of Compressors and ancillary equipment and promote Gardner Denver Service, ensuring customer satisfaction through quality workmanship.
The technician has the authority to initiate action when a non-conformance is identified and recommend solutions through designated channels.ResponsibilitiesCustomer ServiceProvide after hours call out assistance and call back availability when rostered on duty.Conduct overnight field trips to service breakdowns, maintenance, and customer support.Promote and sign up medium to long-term customers under the Air Cover preventative maintenance plans.Provide Customer support (internal and external) for the assigned equipment.Complete all documentation and administrative requirements.Pass sales leads onto sales staff.Achieve weekly and monthly productivity targets.Ensure company owned equipment & premises are kept in a clean, presentable, and serviceable condition.Train, support, coach, and mentor new and existing colleagues.Breakdown, Maintenance & RepairInstall, repair, and maintain the range of Compressors.Contribute to the co-ordination, support, and day-to-day running of the GD Service Business Team.
In the event of a breakdown, test the equipment/system and carry out fault finding and repairs.Carry out technical preventative maintenance and general service work.Ensure that sites where servicing is performed are left clean and tidy.Health Safety & EnvironmentConduct the risk assessment and ensure the working environment is safe at all times and activities conducted are safe and don't harm self or other employees or customer employees.Maintain Safety compliance with the relevant legislation and regulations.Eliminate risks in the working environment by conducting housekeeping, and working with the Customer's line manager to eliminate or at least mitigate the hazards before commencing work.Promote and support the reporting of incidents such as near misses, accidents, or equipment damage using the reporting system.Participate and conduct safety audits for assigned areas.ReportingSubmit all the risk assessments and Job safety analysis within 48 hours of being completed.Submit timesheets daily of hours worked, work conducted, location, and the job number.Other responsibilities as assigned or required :Knowledge of Compressors or similar is essential.Ability to converse and communicate Technical and Product information to Customers internal and external.Intermediate Computer Skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).Demonstrated Analytical and problem-solving skills.Problem solving and able to determine root cause.Organised self-starter.Trade Qualifications Cert III – Fitter and Turner with a minimum of 5 years Maintenance experience.Special AccommodationIf you are a person with a disability and need assistance applying for a job, please submit a request.We are committed to making our customers successful.We foster inspired teams.Ingersoll Rand is committed to achieving workforce diversity reflective of our communities.
