Our goal is to bring a taste of Asia to the heart of the west.We are seeking a Chef to oversee our kitchen, managing a team of food preparation staff, deciding on dishes to serve, and adjusting orders to meet guests' requests.Work will be conducted in a fully functioning, clean, and organised kitchen. The successful candidate will be able to work well under pressure and time constraints, have knowledge of different foods and ingredients, strong communication skills, and the ability to accept criticism.Key Responsibilities:• Cook guests' orders according to their preferences.• Employ food safety best practices and ensure all kitchen staff do the same.• Act with caution in a potentially hazardous environment with knives and high-temperature surfaces.• Select choice ingredients to enhance dish flavour.• Determine food quantities and maintain an adequate supply through regular stock takes.• Stay up-to-date with cooking trends and restaurant industry developments to ensure a unique and positive guest experience.• Work efficiently and effectively during busy periods, such as weekends and large functions.• Take direction and collaborate with the restaurant's administrative team.Requirements:• Relevant qualifications (3 years of experience may substitute for the qualification).• At least 3 years of experience as a chef in a similar restaurant.• Planning menus and creating new dishes.• Overseeing pre-planning requirements and ordering supplies.• Ensuring high-quality dishes are prepared and presented.• Managing the kitchen, including staff requirements and training.• Upholding proper health and safety requirements in the kitchen.• Staying up-to-date with industry developments to ensure business compliance with market demands.We are looking for candidates available to work Monday to Sunday, with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience and the required working rights. The expected salary is $70,000 - $75,000 per year.
