Category and Contract Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Category and Contract Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the purchasing, supply, and distribution of goods and services required by the organisation.
* Negotiate supplier terms and conditions, ensuring favourable agreements and cost-effective outcomes.
* Assist in the procurement process, including drafting contracts, evaluating proposals, and conducting negotiations.
* Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts from creation through to execution, renewal, and eventual termination.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements, regulations, and company policies throughout the procurement and contracting process.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and suppliers to maintain positive relationships and achieve optimal contract performance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Proven experience in category management, procurement, and contract negotiation, preferably in a mining or industrial setting.
* Strong understanding of legal frameworks, regulatory compliance, and contract law.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* High level of organisational ability and attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field (preferred).
* CIPS qualification (completed or in progress) is advantageous.
