We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
The Chef de Partie will primarily be responsible for working with the Head Chef to supervise all operational aspects of the kitchen, maintain strict hygiene and safety procedures & be responsible for the management of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Key Duties:
* Supervision of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef & to delegate duties and responsibilities to junior kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met.
* Contribute in the menu planning process including the use of local, seasonal produce.
* Oversee the consistent quality of all menu items from preparation to presentation.
* Ensure that all food safety & hygiene standards are adhered to by all staff members at all times.
* Conduct regular meetings with Head Chef and FOH management to address kitchen operations to discover potential opportunities to improve.
* Assist in the development & training of all kitchen staff to promote consistent standards.
* Outstanding communication with co-workers & the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained & in good working order.
* Liaise with FOH staff regarding any food preparation and/or menu issues.
* Play a role in the budgeting for stock & labour expenses.
* Available Monday to Sunday, for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner shifts.
Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
* Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a chef, with minimum 1 year @ Demi Chef level.
* Exceptional time management, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
* Passionate about hospitality & have a genuine love for food.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst delivering a consistently high standard of food.
* Love working in a team and promoting a positive culture within the group.
* Reliable, honest, hard-working & trustworthy.
* Have the flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends & public holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
