About the role Step into a dynamic, high-impact role with Coles as a Communications Manager on a 9-month, fixed-term, full-time contract. You'll lead innovative external communications, promoting our seasonal customer campaigns, new product launches, digital experiences, store developments, community projects, Flybuys loyalty initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and more. What you'll do Reporting to our National Communications and Media Manager you'll: Generate media and communications activity to enhance Coles' reputation. Leverage and build your network in traditional and emerging media to secure coverage and promote our brand stories. Partner with our corporate and indigenous affairs, customer, commercial, digital and people and culture teams to enhance Coles' reputation and promote new initiatives. Bring fresh, creative thinking to our seasonal campaigns working with our PR agency to bring these to life. Manage Coles ambassadors, develop media releases, prepare plans and briefings for executives, pitch to journalists and engage influencers. About you and your skills With a minimum of 7 years' experience in a media and/or communications function in-house or at an agency, you'll have tertiary qualifications in communications/marketing/journalism, with exceptional writing and communication skills. You'll also have: A solid background in PR, with a network of media contacts in broadcast, print, and digital. A deep understanding of how newsrooms operate, confidence in pitching, and skill at landing stories. A proactive approach to planning campaigns well in advance and collaborating seamlessly with internal teams. Passion for making an impact, thinking creatively, and inspiring positive media and community engagement. Experience working for a sizeable FMCG/Retail organisation, ideal not mandatory.
