Job Description:
The Area Training Officer is a temporary full-time position within the Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ) Districts. The role is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, delivering, and evaluating training to volunteers and brigades across the District.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead the coordination, delivery, facilitation, and evaluation of formal and informal training and support additional courses for volunteers.
* Conduct training needs assessments for volunteers to identify gaps in current capabilities.
* Provide Area input into development of the annual training plan for the District, with a focus on volunteers.
Key Skills and Attributes:
* Must meet the mandatory requirements and attributes as outlined in the generic RFSO2 role description.
* Knowledge of, or experience working with volunteers and/or within a volunteer organisation.
* Capacity to participate out of hours shift roster during disaster operations.
* Thorough knowledge of the concepts, strategies, and issues associated with managing rural fire services, particularly in a volunteer environment.
Additional Requirements:
* Possession of current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or accredited tertiary qualification in adult education or equivalent.
* Ability to provide operational leadership at emergency situations utilising the AIIMS/IMS methodology.
