Reporting to the Procurement Performance Manager, the Procurement Specialist will support the Procurement Team’s priorities and delivery of procurement strategies to the broader Boral organisation. This varied role will be focused on developing and managing performance improvement projects including process discovery, baseline analytics and reporting. Extending to running tactical sourcing events and supplier interactions, you will prepare recommendations for operational improvements in support of the team’s objectives. Engaging broadly across the Boral business with key stakeholders, you will provide guidance in purchasing and performance managing suppliers in the form of analytical insights, training, coaching and problem resolution.

Your day will involve:
1. Identify, develop and support continuous improvement in the procurement processes, documentation, spend analytics, performance reports and buying processes and leverage technology, systems and tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness
2. Provide analytical and operational support, key insights for strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management (SRM) and other procurement activities
3. Work in collaboration with the Category teams and stakeholders to analyse spend, identify opportunities and deliver value against agreed targets, risk management and governance for national and regional spend.
4. Conduct sourcing and supplier management activities in accordance Boral policies and procedures to meet business needs, present recommendations, prepare negotiate and execute contracts with input from the cross-functional team, including the accurate recording of minutes of procurement meetings
5. Develop and deliver training for internal stakeholders as part of change management on improvement project outcomes.
What are we looking for?
6. Experience in procurement sourcing and purchasing processes and techniques.
7. Advanced analytical skills, proven capability using analytical tools across large data sets with the ability to interpret information and provide insights & recommendations.
8. Relevant experience in a large national organisation working with multiple stakeholders.
9. Advanced level skills within MS Excel.
10. Graduate with a qualification in Business, Supply Chain & Operations, Commercials, Engineering, Economics or Finance.
