About the Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new graduate or junior practitioner to join the Government and Administrative Law Group (GALG) in the Public Law Section (PLS) of the Crown Solicitor's Office (CSO).
The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team of junior and senior lawyers, led by Executive Solicitors Melanie Cattonar and Sean O'Flaherty.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide legal advice and representation across the whole of South Australian Government, including Ministers, Departments, statutory authorities, and other instrumentalities
* Represent government clients in a number of courts and tribunals, particularly in the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Supreme Court
* Contribute to significant State government policy goals and reform projects

About the Business:
The Crown Solicitor's Office provides legal services to government specifically to Ministers, departments, and other public sector agencies.
This includes providing legal advice, conducting a wide range of litigation including representation before courts and tribunals, negotiating and drafting for commercial property and general commercial transactions, and conducting summary prosecutions.
Special Conditions for Employment:
* Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory
* Some out of hours work may be required
* Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted practicing certificate within South Australia
