General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)Full timeGreyhound Racing in Queensland is entering an exciting new phase with the merger of the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club and Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club, forming the Queensland Greyhound Racing Club (QGRC). In early 2025, QGRC will begin transitioning operations to The Q, a new greyhound racing facility in Yamanto, south-west of Ipswich.The Club is committed to fostering a family-friendly and balanced workplace, offering flexibility in work arrangements to support personal commitments. This role will initially be based at our Brisbane office at Albion Park Raceway and will move to The Q facility in 2025.About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and experienced General Manager to lead the launch of our highly anticipated venue, The Q. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the executive team, the General Manager will develop and execute strategic plans to achieve the Club's goals. This newly created senior role will focus on establishing and overseeing the Customer Experience portfolio. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you’ll bring confidence in your expertise and a collaborative spirit, building strong stakeholder relationships to benefit your team, The Q, and the wider community. With a background in Club management and leadership, you will be responsible for attracting and retaining customers and training your team to deliver exceptional customer service, prioritizing the needs of our patrons.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operations within the Customer Experience portfolio.Oversee The Q Club facility, including a large bar, bistro and dining area, kids club, alfresco entertainment spaces, and gaming areas.Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve Club objectives.Meet or exceed financial performance targets.Cultivate positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.Lead and motivate team members to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.Identify and pursue growth opportunities.Stay informed on industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly.Prepare and present reports to the executive team and board as required.Selection Criteria – Qualifications & ExperienceProven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role within a Club or gaming environment.Demonstrated expertise in establishing and growing electronic gaming and hospitality operations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and high security standards.Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management.Bachelor’s degree in business and/or hospitality management is advantageous.Current RMLV, RSA, RSG, and a satisfactory National Police Check are required for this position.Hours of WorkThe Club hosts eight race meetings per week at the Albion Park Raceway and Ipswich Showgrounds. Due to the nature of this role, some evening and weekend work will be required.
