Our Federal Government client is seeking a high-performing Senior Communications Officer to join their Internal Communication team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to play a key role in fostering employee engagement, strengthening organisational culture, and aligning internal messaging with the Department’s strategic objectives.
About the Role
As a Senior Communications Officer, you will be responsible for leading major internal communication initiatives and projects, developing engaging content for DVA’s all-staff communication channels, and providing strategic communication advice across the Department. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure clear, consistent, and effective messaging that supports collaboration and drives positive organisational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement internal communication strategies and content to support departmental projects and initiatives.
2. Provide strategic communication advice to business areas on best practices for internal engagement.
3. Create high-quality, engaging written content tailored for various internal communication channels.
4. Contribute to the development and execution of the Internal Communication Strategy.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Manage internal communication issues, risks, and priorities, ensuring timely and effective responses.
7. Support the broader Communications Branch with other activities as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
1. Demonstrated experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field.
2. Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging messages.
3. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
4. Sound judgement and problem-solving abilities, particularly in handling communication challenges.
5. A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
6. Creativity and innovation in communication strategy and content development.
7. Must be an Australian Citizen
