Your Opportunity Mission Australia is seeking an experienced and values-based leader to join our team as the Area Manager for Youth Services in Perth. Reporting to the Regional Leader Community Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of approximately six contracts across multiple locations in metropolitan Perth. You will manage a team of approximately 115 staff, including three direct reports, ensuring services align with contractual obligations and deliver meaningful outcomes for young people. You will be a passionate people leader who can drive a culture of openness and productivity while fostering an environment that focuses on client outcomes and satisfaction As the Area Manager, you will play a vital role in workforce planning, resource management, and professional development of frontline service managers. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, service improvement, and innovation while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with government representatives, funding bodies, and corporate partners. Your Key Responsibilities Lead the service delivery team to ensure effective and efficient contract delivery, maintaining accountability for operational performance and achieving service targets. Build and maintain strong positive relationships with government agencies, funders, community groups, and corporate stakeholders to strengthen the organisation’s presence and partnerships. Actively participate in at least two committees or membership bodies within the Youth or Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) sector to advocate for service improvement and community inclusion. Oversee workforce planning, including recruitment and retention, to ensure 24/7 service operations are maintained with adequate staffing and resource allocation. Be an inspirational Leader to the service delivery team by demonstrating courage in leadership and responding to issues and risks appropriately. Provide leadership and development to frontline service managers, upholding a values-driven, high-performance culture and ensuring ongoing professional development. Manage budgets in collaboration with the Finance Business Partner, ensuring responsible financial oversight that supports service sustainability and growth. Support the Regional Leader and State Director in contract negotiations, service improvement initiatives, and innovative program development to enhance service impact. Provide upline on-call support to 24/7 services on a rotational basis. Requirements for Success With a significant background leading large teams over different locations and working in the community services sector, you will be confident in values-based leadership and workforce planning. Other requirements include: Proven experience in a senior leadership role managing multiple contracts within the youth, AOD, or community services sector. insightful people leadership skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams in a values-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, track financial performance, and ensure responsible allocation of resources. Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with government representatives, funders, and community partners. Experience in workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, and succession planning, particularly within 24/7 service environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to monitor service performance, track operational outcomes, and implement continuous improvement strategies. A deep understanding of working with Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) and culturally diverse communities, ensuring inclusive and culturally safe service delivery. First Aid Certification is desired but not essential. Full driver licence with no restrictions.
