Add expected salary to your profile for insights.The Lead Draftsperson is responsible for supporting the relevant conveyor components product line by delivering fit for purpose designs and drawings and identifying product improvements, as well as providing input into new and innovative product development.They are responsible for executing their duties in accordance with the quality and safety systems of the company, assisting in the selection and design of conveyor components through engineering and drafting best practices utilizing approved calculation tools and processes.Successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to: Contributing to the safety culture of the engineering team and the product line through actions and observations consistent with the business standard.Developing and maintaining internal tools, including parametric configuration models, to enable efficient design and drafting across the product lines.Developing and maintaining standard templates, design and drawing procedures (in consultation with Principal engineers and management) to ensure consistency across the product lines.Developing and maintaining PLM architecture.Approving drawings as appropriate, escalating to engineering for approval as required.Reviewing and understanding client drawings and requirements, providing guidance to the team on consistent execution of the same.Driving standardization of component parts where practicable to minimize variation.Supporting engineers and sales team in the preparation of designs and drawings for standard and special customer-specific products and components.Creating 3D models in the design software to satisfy project requirements, using configuration models as appropriate.Creating sales and manufacturing drawings for aftermarket, refurbishment, or project orders.Ensuring compliance with relevant client and Australian standards.Facilitating peer-review checks of drawings to enable approval.Collating drawing packages.Training and mentoring new and/or junior staff in their product range, design tools, and drawing standards.Working collaboratively with sales, engineers, and operations to deliver appropriate solutions to customer needs whilst considering Design for Manufacture.RequirementsEngineering degree/diploma or related discipline.10 years' experience in drafting for industrial environments.5 years' experience as Senior or Lead Draftsperson is highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in delivering engineering designs in a complex environment.Experience in executing engineering design to meet customer and mandated standards.Experience with Bulk Material Handling systems and components is highly desirable.Experience in design for manufacture in a variety of industries; composites, fabrication, and assembly environments are highly regarded. #J-18808-Ljbffr
