Wagga Wagga City Council are seeking enthusiastic swim instructors to join our Oasis Swim School team to teach all levels of our program across the seven (7) days of the week that we operate.
As a Casual Learn to Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering our Learn to Swim program, which aims to equip participants with essential water safety skills and foster a lifelong love for swimming. You will work closely with our team of experienced instructors to deliver engaging and effective swim lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
Positions are casual and on an as needs basis. With shifts both during the week and on weekends. Applications will be retained on file to fill vacancies within our casual pool as they arise.
* Remuneration of $35.54 gross per hour + superannuation.
Tasks and responsibilities include:
* Deliver Engaging Swim Lessons: Lead swim lessons for participants of various ages and abilities, following established curriculum and safety guidelines.
* Provide Individualised Instruction: Offer personalised feedback and guidance to help participants develop proper swimming techniques and build confidence in the water.
* Ensure Safety: Always maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, adhering to recognised safety standards and protocols.
* Communicate Effectively: Establish clear communication channels with participants and colleagues to provide updates on progress, schedules, and any relevant information.
* Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments, and provide regular updates to program supervisors.
* Team Player: Be able to work in a team environment.
Qualifications and experience:
We are looking for people who hold the following or are willing to obtain prior to commencement:
* Swim Teacher qualification – Royal Life Saving Society Australia (RLSSA), Austswim Australia or Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association accredited course.
* Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.
* NSW Working with Children Check Clearance.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, successful candidates are required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
