We are seeking a highly experienced Range & Regulatory Officer to join our innovative team and play a critical role in sending rockets to space from Australia.
Our state-of-the-art facility, located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, provides an ideal environment for innovation and excellence, equipped with the latest technology and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with our launch site operations team to develop, implement, and publish launch safety zones in the air, sea, and land environments.
* Manage third-party service providers to ensure services meet corporate standards and terms of contract.
* Supervise and provide daily support to launch operations technicians.
* Control safety zones, particularly regarding range clearance procedures.
* Write Range Safety policy and procedures to administer and operate safety zones for launch.
* Evaluate compliance with safety and quality inspection principles in all tasks.
* Manage community relationships and public information campaigns to raise awareness about safety zones.
* Partner with state and federal authorities to achieve situational awareness over safety zones and enforce requirements as necessary.
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* A high school certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Experience managing air or weapons ranges.
* Experience operating radio telephony equipment.
* Conducting risk management workshops and documentation experience.
* Policy and procedure document writing and reviewing experience.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with local landowners and community groups.
* Geodetic information systems and mapping applications experience.
* Knowledge of high-pressure pneumatic, hydraulic, and cryogenic fluids systems.
* Practical experience working with radio telephony equipment.
* Budget management experience.
* Third-party vendor management experience.
* Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
* Meet deadlines in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
* Safety procedures and techniques knowledge.
* Inspection equipment familiarity.
* Measuring instruments understanding.
* Fluids system schematics and procedures related to launch operations comprehension.
* Machinery operation skills and various hand and power tool proficiency.
* Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) skill level.
