Summary:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration.Responsibilities:
Provide personal care, including hygiene and grooming, tailored to the needs of veterans and their families.
Provide emotional and practical support to clients
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
Develop and implement individual support plans in consultation with clients and their families
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and provide reports as required
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, psychologists, and social workers
Participate in ongoing training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
Certificate IV in Disability Support or Individual Support (or equivalent).
Experience in aged care, personal care, or similar roles is highly valued.
Proven experience with DVA clients
Ability to work flexible hours, including shorter shifts
Willingness to travel between shifts and work at various locations
Updated Certificates (e.g., First Aid and CPR, etc.)
Manual Handling Certificate (optional)
Valid Driver's License and has own transportation
