Seeking an experienced Dam Engineer for upcoming work in the Bowen Basin area. Your new company Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager, this role will see you deliver projects that meet the approved objectives within the constraints of scope, time, quality, and budget to maximise value. Project-related health, safety, environment, and community risks will be identified and managed. Your new role As part of the BMA Asset Management and Engineering team, the RDE/RTFE is accountable for the assurance of the integrity of BMA's water and tailings storage facilities through engineering governance to manage the risk of dam failure. Key accountabilities are as follows: Deliver projects for water and tailings storage facilities within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints. Manage risks related to dam operations, including emergency preparedness and compliance with industry standards. Engage stakeholders effectively and support internal and external audits and reviews. Dam operation, maintenance and surveillance. Dam emergency preparedness and response. Dam instrumentation and monitoring. Ownership and verification of critical controls for dam failure. Governance of dam remedial designs and construction projects. Stakeholder engagement and support. Risk assessment, compliance and governance. Adherence to BMA standards and systems. Applying state, national and global guidelines/standards for tailings. Integrating GISTM requirements to site operations. Active participation and support for internal and external audits and reviews. Supporting BMA RDEs at other sites within the Bowen Basin, as required. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will possess the following: Tertiary qualifications in engineering or equivalent subjects and industry experience, preferably in the fields of civil, water, or geotechnical engineering. Direct experience in tailings and water storage facilities during design, construction, operation, and maintenance. Strong capability in engineering principles, standards, and processes. Demonstrated experience with defining project scope, working across a range of disciplines, and navigating organisational complexity. Highly organised and adaptable to manage conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment. Strong stakeholder and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information to operations and influence at various levels within the organisation. What you'll get in return The role is based on site in the Bowen Basin, with options of living residentially in Moranbah or Dysart, FIFO from Brisbane or DIDO from Mackay and surrounding areas.
